I’ve been trying to mix things up within our budget to see if I can move beyond the same five to seven meals a week. This week, I played with making turkey and mushroom burgers. These can be mixed up with swiss instead of mozzarella/pizza cheese, add some barbecue sauce or diced onions. I look forward to experimenting with them.
Turkey and Mushroom Burgers
These great burgers can be eaten alone or put between a bun and made into a sandwich. They are also very versatile.
1. Place the turkey in a bowl. Add can of mushrooms and cheese. Add the egg and one to two handfuls of bread crumbs. Mix to the desired consistency. It will be a bit soft, but will firm up when cooked.
2. Separate into 4 patties.
3. Cook in a hot skillet for about 7 minutes on each side until done.
