Why this membership thing?
You might be asking why should you become a member. It’ll be cheaper for you to wait until the book is released and just buy it. And you’d be right. However, in the case of Rota Rising, especially, you will also gain access to additional information including related stories, “behind the scenes” material, and more. Think of it like a Patreon (monthly membership funding) only on my site.
So why do sustainable funding? There’s a lot I could talk about, like how in the rural part of the US where I live, my salary (at $200 below the poverty line for a family of two as of this writing) is pretty high for a technical job, and I am trying to make sure we can cover the basics like medication for my husband (I’ve written about how I’ve given up on medical care.) and some of the extras. I, like a lot of people, am struggling to make ends meet, and sadly my disability is making it difficult to do so. I have a side gig (My Author Home – check me out if you need editing, website work, or anything else technical) that I’m hoping to make my full-time gig, just like this writing. And that’s where you come in.
For less than I hear a coffee costs a day (I live 100 miles from the nearest Starbucks, I think.) you can get a story I’m writing just for your membership tier and extras. I promise to make it worth your while. I will do my darndest to make sure you feel as if you’re getting your money’s worth each month–probably a lot more.
