You can tell when you’re getting into a regular practice schedule. The lips and cheeks start to hurt less; the tone sounds better. Notes come easier, and even hitting those high notes happens. At least this was the case with me this week as I worked to continue my speed and my accuracy in my practice. I made it through two whole octaves of my scales, and I am thinking even though I’m not really in a holiday mood, I might need to find my holiday playbook.

The important factors continue to be consistency and tenacity. Keep practicing. Even if it’s for just 5 or 10 minutes. Do it.

We’ll see if I find that holiday playbook next week.
